Jewelry is always a valuable addition to an outfit. But what happens when diamonds lose their sparkle and silver starts to tarnish? Buying a new ring or necklace is always an option, but constantly replacing old jewelry quickly becomes expensive. It’s time to discover simple ways to quickly restore jewelry that no longer looks brand new.
No matter your rings, necklaces, bracelets, or pendants, there’s a trick to cleaning them. Take your tarnished jewelry and restore its former glory. All you need are a few easy-to-find materials and about 15 minutes.

1. How to Clean Diamonds
When your diamond wedding band starts to reveal your years of marriage, it’s probably time to give it a little shine. Start with 1/3 cup of water, then add 3 to 4 drops of lemon essential oil. Swirl a toothbrush around in the bowl to mix everything together, then scrub the diamond with the brush. Place the diamond in the bowl for 10 to 15 minutes, then rinse it with clean water. If any dirt remains, scrub it again with the toothbrush. If it’s clean, let it air dry for a few minutes.

2. How to Clean Gold Gold
rings and bracelets are very valuable when they’re clean and polished. But if they’re starting to look a little dirty, it’s time for a deep cleaning. Fill a bowl with Windex, add a tablespoon of dish soap, and mix it all together with a toothbrush. Use the toothbrush to scrub the gold jewelry, then dip it into the mixture and let it soak for a few minutes. If it’s clean after that, let it air dry.

3. How to Clean Silver
As beautiful as it is, silver jewelry can easily tarnish if it’s not properly cared for. Cleaning silverware requires a few extra steps, but the end result is definitely worth it. Start with a large square of aluminum foil and fold it until it fits in the bowl. Pour a tablespoon of salt and a tablespoon of baking soda onto the foil, then pour boiling water over it. Place the silver jewelry in the bowl, then let it soak for 10 to 15 minutes before rinsing it with clean water. If the silverware is like new, let it air dry. If there are any remaining spots that don’t look clean, let it soak in the bowl for a few more minutes.
