“Before leaving, I always recommend my clients thoroughly clean their sinks, treat the drains with hot white vinegar, and cover everything with a simple upside-down glass on paper. This prevents 80% of the problems I encounter every summer when returning from vacation.”

Steps before departure: The ritual of the perfect vacationer
Here is the complete method to leave a clean, healthy and airtight sink:
-
Clean the sink thoroughly , especially the edges of the drain and the walls.
-
Pour 2 to 3 liters of hot or boiling white vinegar down the drain. This will disinfect the pipes and dissolve any residue.
-
Leave it on for a few hours or even overnight and temporarily close the sink with a plug or a cloth.
-
Rinse with hot water the next day .
-
Rub the drain with half a lemon to neutralize odors and add a natural fragrance.
-
Dry the sink thoroughly.
-
Place a sheet of absorbent paper over the hole.
-
Place a glass cup (or a thick plastic cup) over it so that the sink inlet is completely covered.
And there you have it! In just a few minutes, you’ve protected your kitchen from the inconveniences of your absence.
