DIY decoration, art and design

2. 🎄 Christmas decorations (or for other holidays)

A plate can become a perfect base for seasonal decorations!

You will need :

  • Whole or broken plates

  • Hot glue

  • Balls, ribbons, twigs, pine cones, buttons, lights

How to do :

  1. Clean the plate well.

  2. Glue the decorations on top as if it were a garland or a themed table centerpiece.

  3. Hang it or use it as a shelf decoration.

3. 🟪 Artistic mosaic

The shards become pieces of a work of art.

You will need :

  • Shards of colored plates

  • Rigid base (wood, mirror, coffee table)

  • Tile glue or silicone

  • Grout for joints

How to do :

  1. Arrange the pieces on a surface according to the desired design.

  2. Glue one by one.

  3. Fill the joints with grout and clean thoroughly.

4. 🖼️ Decorative frame

An entire plate, perhaps vintage or with floral motifs, can become a “picture” on the wall.

How to do :

  • Glue a hook to the back or use a wall plate holder.

  • Place it on an empty wall for a shabby chic or boho effect.

  • Pair it with other plates for an original gallery wall.

5. 🧱 Decorative wall or corner

Do you have a lot of dishes? Create a decorated wall or a themed display.

Idea :

  • Entrance hall or kitchen with plates hanging in a random order

  • Tone-on-tone compositions

  • Plates arranged in a spiral, heart or circle

♻️ Extra tip

If a plate is too broken to be salvaged, you can use it as drainage at the bottom of flowerpots: it will help prevent waterlogging.
