In Italy, some  chronic or disabling illnesses  may entitle you to  a permanent pension  or  disability benefit , even for life. But what are these conditions? What requirements must you meet? In this article, we clarify  which illnesses entitle you to a lifelong pension , according to current INPS regulations.

What does “pension forever” mean?

A permanent pension is   when a person, for irreversible health reasons,  is no longer able to work  and receives financial support from the state. In Italy, this type of pension can be paid through:

Disability pension  (total incapacity for work)

Ordinary disability allowance (AOI)  (working capacity reduced by at least 2/3)

Attendance allowance

100% civil disability pension

The duration can be  temporary or permanent , depending on the severity of the condition and the medical-legal judgment of the INPS.
