How to choose your eggs?
Learn how to decipher egg labels:
the term fresh means that the egg can be consumed without any problem up to 28 days after laying;
the egg is considered “extra fresh” or “extra” up to the 9th day after the date of laying of the eggs. In this case, the date of laying and the 9-day expiry date are affixed to the packaging;
“laid on” corresponds to the indication of the date of laying with specific marketing deadlines;
terms such as organic, free range, barn and cage provide information on the type of breeding of the hens;
Be aware that eggs sold in shops and supermarkets have a code that describes their quality. This code begins with a number indicating the origin of the eggs:
