You’ve probably noticed the little black dots on your car’s windshield, but it’s essential to understand their real purpose.

The predisposition of these small dots allows for a fairly uniform temperature across the windshield during its manufacture, which prevents optical distortion, commonly called “lens flare”, and ensures that straight lines remain straight on the glass.
