We often think we’re safe at home. And yet… Our pets can become real tick taxis. These parasites exploit your dog or cat’s fur to sneak into your home.
Some ticks don’t attach immediately. They wait for the perfect moment to settle. A simple touch is all it takes, and you’re exposed.
Stay vigilant even in winter
. Contrary to popular belief, ticks don’t sleep in winter. As soon as temperatures exceed 5°C, they become active again. There are certainly fewer of them, but they are no less dangerous. Therefore, a visual check after every walk is essential, no matter the season.
The right reflex:
Tick tweezers. Invest in special tick tweezers or a tick hook. These tools allow you to remove the intruder without tearing off its head, which could leave infectious fragments under the skin.
