With the resulting acidified solution, rub the orchid leaves on all sides using a damp cotton pad. Make sure that excess water doesn’t get between the leaves or into the stem. The water shouldn’t leak from the pad; it should only be slightly damp. Clean the orchid with this slightly acidified water with lemon juice no more than once a week.
To protect the roots from insects, as well as to nourish them, you can and should use lemon, but in limited quantities. Add 3 drops of lemon juice to 200 ml (about 1 glass) of warm, still water. Water the orchid with this water.
