We should pay attention to the type of floor covering , as each requires particular products and methods . We will also see how to properly clean balustrades whether they are iron, cement or aluminum. But that’s not all: there are also tips to keep ants , bees and bumblebees away .
Let’s arm ourselves with everything we need and find out together how to deeply clean the balcony and terrace!
1) How to clean balcony railings
The best place to start cleaning from is definitely the railing, this way you won’t be stepping on the floor again after cleaning it. First of all, take a good look at what it is made of, generally it is beaten iron, cement or aluminum. Use a broom to brush the railings to remove dust and cobwebs. Then proceed according to the material!
2) Clean the wrought iron railings
The most common material for balustrades is wrought iron. To clean it properly, create a solution with water, lemon, and white vinegar. Wet the entire railing with this composition and let it dry in the sun. Once it has completely dried, soak a paper or cloth rag in olive oil and run it over the railing. There you go, it will have regained its color and you will have delayed the appearance of rust!
If the wrought iron balustrade has already suffered from rust, before washing it, you will need to remove it. To do this, you could use a stiff-bristled brush dipped in a mixture of 4 tablespoons of salt and half a lemon. Brush and clean.
