Here are the most recent blood pressure guidelines. Are they appropriate for everyone?

Everyone concerned, but not everyone is the same:

One of the major changes is  the disappearance of the distinction between young and old people . The new recommendations apply to  everyone , regardless of age.  The problem: this classifies a large proportion of those over 65 as “hypertensive”… even though they felt healthy.

But be careful: a number does not necessarily mean a treatment. These recommendations  do not mean that everyone should start drug treatment . Rather, they pave the way for  measures tailored to each individual , often  starting with simple lifestyle adjustments .
