1-2 cinnamon sticks or 1 teaspoon of ground cinnamon
3-4 whole cloves (not powdered)
2 cups of water
Honey or lemon (optional, for added flavor)
Instructions:
Prepare the Ingredients: Peel and crush or chop 2-3 cloves of garlic. If you’re using cinnamon sticks, break them into smaller pieces. If you have ground cinnamon, 1 teaspoon should be sufficient. Also, measure out about 3-4 whole cloves.
Boil the Water: In a small saucepan, bring 2 cups of water to a boil.
Add the Ingredients: Once the water is boiling, add the garlic, cinnamon sticks (or ground cinnamon), and whole cloves to the pot.
Simmer: Reduce the heat and allow the mixture to simmer for 10-15 minutes. This will allow the ingredients to release their beneficial properties into the water.
Strain the Tea: After simmering, strain the tea into a mug to remove the solid ingredients.
Optional Add-ins: You can add honey to sweeten the tea (honey also has antibacterial and soothing properties for the throat) and lemon juice for a refreshing citrus twist.
Drink: Sip the tea slowly while it’s warm, and feel free to enjoy it once or twice a day, especially when you are experiencing symptoms of a cough or respiratory discomfort.
