An early sign of Alzheimer’s disease can be noticed while taking a shower: what should you look out for?

Here are the 12 odors used in the test, to watch out for if you experience persistent discomfort:

  • Non-food odors  :  soap, leather, lilac, smoke, gas, rose
  • Food odors  :  cherry, clove, strawberry, menthol, pineapple, lemon

Repeated difficulty recognizing several of these odors – especially a familiar fragrance like soap – may warrant  a discussion with your doctor , especially if other subtle signs concern you (memory lapses, disorientation, loss of interest, etc.).

Moral?  Showering isn’t just a moment of relaxation…  it could also become a silent alert about the state of our brain.
