Pasticciotti Leccesi: the original recipe

Ingredients:

For the custard:
450 ml of whole
milk 180 g of granulated

40 g of cornstarch
1 lemon zest

For the shortcrust pastry:
500 g of flour
00 250 g of lard
200 g of sugar
4 egg yolks
1 teaspoon of vanilla

extractFor the filling and decoration:
25-30 sour cherries in syrup
1 egg (for brushing)
