Lately, I’ve been thinking about our utility bills, especially after discovering that our home’s water consumption is significantly higher than average. According to statistics, a person typically spends about 5 cubic meters of water per month, but our numbers were different.
It all started when I posted about my experience contacting the water department about an erroneous receipt stating that we were using 140 cubic meters of water in one month. The error was corrected and it turned out that our actual consumption was 47 cubic meters, which seemed incredibly high for three people.
Thinking about this, I decided to check the operation of our meter myself. I did it in a simple way: I remembered the last digit of the meter, poured three liters of water into a jar and checked the changes. The meter worked perfectly.
