Why were no bodies found in the wreck of the Titanic?

When the wreck was discovered in 1985, researchers expected to see everything in a new light: objects, structures, but also more direct evidence of the passengers’ presence. Instead, they unearthed a veritable time capsule composed of intact dishes, collapsed furniture, shoes, and suitcases, resting in almost solemn silence. Yet, no human remains were found.

Even James Cameron, during his numerous preparatory dives for the film, confirmed that he never saw anything other than scattered clothing and accessories.
